Installing the Trackhawk JM-VL03 GPS Tracker & Kill Switch

Product Overview

We strongly recommend activating the tracker before installation.

This way you can test the device during installation and before concealing the unit.

Product Setup Prior to Installation

1. Remove the upper cover of the Trackhawk JM-VL03 GPS Tracker
2. Toggle the on/off switch to on – BY DEFAULT THIS SWITCH IS OFF
3. Press the upper case down and make sure all 5 clips are completely in place

LED Indication

Power Indication (Red)

On for .3 seconds and off for .3 seconds	Low power
On for 1 second and off for 3 seconds	Fully charged
On for .1 second and off for 3 seconds	Working Normally
Solid on	Charging (Higher priority than the status of low power)
Off	Battery is exhausted/lnternal failure

GNSS Indicator Status (Blue)

On 1or 0.3s and off for 0.3s	Searching GNSS signal
Solid on	Positioned
Off	GNSS module is in sleep mode or Not working

Cellular Indicator Lights (Green)

On for .3 seconds and off for .3 seconds	Network initializing
On for 1 second and off for 3 seconds	Receiving signal normally
On for .1 second and off for 3 seconds	Network Connected
Solid on	Calling
Off	No signal received/no sim card detected

Tips for finding the right wires:

1. Use multimeter to find out the positive and negative sides of vehicle battery. Noto: No matter 1he ignition key is switched 1o ON or OFF, current battel)' voltage can be shown in the multimeter.
2. The way to find ACC wire: Connect multimeter's black prob to negative side, and connect red probe to a random wire, at this moment, the voltage shown in multimeter is 0V; tum the key to ON, if the supply voltage is shown, that's the correct ACC wire.
3. Connect the two connectors together, if the vehicle has no connector, please connect device's wires to corresponding vehicle wires

Other Tips

1. The device should face up to the sky
2. The most common discreet locations used for this GPS tracker is under the front hood, around the vehicle dashboard, and under the rear windshield.
